Circular non-metallic expansion joint

Circular non-metallic expansion joint is a compensation device specially designed for use in circular piping systems, mainly used to absorb axial, radial and angular displacements of piping systems due to temperature changes, mechanical vibrations or installation errors. They are widely used in electric power, petrochemical, metallurgy, cement and other industries, especially for pipeline systems with high temperature, high pressure, high dust and corrosive media.

Features and benefits of round non-metallic expansion joints include:

  1. Strong adaptability: It can adapt to various complex working conditions, such as high temperature (up to more than 1000 °C), high pressure, and high corrosive environment.

  2. Compensation capacity: It has excellent axial, radial and angular displacement compensation ability, which can effectively reduce the stress concentration in the pipeline system and improve the stability and safety of the system.

  3. Good sealing: The multi-layer composite structure, including an inner wear layer, an intermediate insulation layer and an outer protective layer, ensures good sealing performance under high temperature and pressure.

  4. Low reverse thrust: Compared to metal expansion joints, non-metallic expansion joints produce little reverse thrust when working, reducing the additional load on other components in the pipeline system and reducing the complexity of design and installation.

  5. Easy maintenance: The structural design of non-metallic expansion joints makes them easy to inspect and maintain, allowing for easy on-site overhaul and replacement.

  6. Long life: High-quality materials and advanced manufacturing processes ensure long-term stable operation of non-metallic expansion joints, reducing replacement frequency and maintenance costs.

Typical configurations of circular non-metallic expansion joints include:

  • inner liner: Usually made of high-temperature, corrosion-resistant materials that directly contact the internal media of the pipe, providing abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance.

  • Thermal insulation: It is composed of ceramic fiber, aluminum silicate fiber and other materials, which plays a thermal insulation role, reduces heat loss, and protects the outer layer from high temperature.

  • Overlay: Made of silicone cloth, fluororubber cloth or other weather resistant materials to protect the entire expansion joint from the external environment.

  • reinforcement: In some designs, metal rings or wire mesh reinforcements are incorporated to increase the structural strength and stability of the expansion joint.

When designing and selecting circular non-metallic expansion joints, factors that need to be considered include operating temperature, pressure, media characteristics, displacement, service life and installation space. Usually, we will provide customized products and services according to specific application conditions.
