Main components of rotary compensator

Rotary compensator is a device used to absorb axial displacement and thermal elongation of pipeline system. It compensates for thermal expansion and contraction of pipeline by rotating and reduces pipeline stress. The main components of a rotary compensator include, but are not limited to, the following key components:

  1. rotating tube: This is the core part of the compensator, which is able to rotate relative to other parts to absorb the axial displacement of the pipe.

  2. Reducing friction center bearing: Located in the center of the rotating tube, it reduces the friction of the rotating tube during rotation and ensures smooth rotation action.

  3. Sealing material: Flexible graphite filler or other high-temperature and corrosion-resistant materials are usually used to ensure the seal between the rotating tube and the stationary part to prevent media leakage.

  4. Sealing gland: Compress the sealing material to ensure the sealing effect and prevent leakage.

  5. Seal Seat: Provides a stable base for holding the sealing material and sealing the gland.

  6. Compression bolt: It is used to adjust the pressure of the sealing gland to ensure the close contact of the sealing material and maintain a good sealing state.

  7. Tapered connecting tube: Used to connect the rotary compensator with the piping system to ensure the continuous flow of fluid medium.

  8. Packing gland and spring compression flange: In some designs, used to further enhance the sealing effect, especially in maintenance-free rotary compensators, springs can help maintain constant pressure, maintaining the seal even after long periods of operation.

  9. Guide and anti-detachment device: Make sure the rotating tube moves along the correct axis during rotation to prevent prolapse.

  10. Ball or roller: In some designs, it is used to reduce friction when the rotating tube rotates and improve rotational efficiency.

These components of the rotary compensator work together to not only absorb the thermal expansion of the pipe, but also reduce maintenance requirements and improve the reliability and safety of the pipe system. During installation and use, proper layout and regular inspection and maintenance are very important to ensure the proper operation and extended service life of the compensator.
