Boiler flue gas baffle door

The boiler flue gas baffle door is a key component in the flue gas treatment system of coal-fired boiler, which is mainly used to control and cut off the flue gas flow path. This type of baffle door is usually installed at the connection between the boiler flue and downstream equipment such as desulfurization tower, denitrification device, dust collector, etc. Its main functions include:

  1. Flue gas control: During boiler operation, baffle doors can regulate flue gas flow and help control flue gas temperature and pressure to optimize the desulfurization and denitrification process.

  2. Isolation equipment: When equipment maintenance or replacement is required, the baffle door can be closed to isolate the relevant equipment from the flue gas stream and ensure the safety of the staff.

  3. Prevent smoke leakage: The baffle door must have good sealing performance to prevent the flue gas from leaking in the closed state and affecting the environment and the normal operation of subsequent equipment.

  4. Emergency shutdown: In an emergency, quickly closing the baffle door prevents flue gas from continuing to flow into downstream equipment, protecting the system from damage.

  5. Energy Saving and Environmental Protection: By precisely controlling flue gas flow, baffle doors help reduce energy waste while ensuring flue gas emissions meet environmental regulatory requirements.

Modern boiler flue gas baffle doors employ advanced technologies such as electric or pneumatic actuators for fast and accurate opening and closing operations. New baffle doors may also have the following features:

  • Electric smoke baffle door: The electric actuator is adopted, which can be operated remotely through the control system, which is convenient for automated management.

  • Hydraulic baffle door: Driven using a hydraulic system, suitable for large-size baffle doors, providing smooth and powerful opening and closing action.

  • Sealing System: Special materials (such as graphite packing) or designs (such as double seals) are used to ensure good sealing performance in high temperature and corrosive environments.

The installation and maintenance of baffle doors is equally important, and specific codes and procedures must be followed to ensure their reliable operation over the long term. When designing and selecting baffle doors, factors such as temperature, pressure, corrosiveness of their working environment and the requirements of the equipment connected to them should be taken into account. Additionally, regular inspections and maintenance are essential to prevent breakdowns and extend service life.
