Installation direction of directly buried compensator

The proper installation orientation of a directly buried compensator is essential to ensure its proper operation and prolonged service life. Different types and designs of directly buried compensators have specific requirements in the direction of installation. Here are some basic installation orientation guidelines that apply to direct-buried socket compensators and direct-buried corrugated compensators:

Direct buried sleeve compensator

  1. Direction of media flow

  • The sliding sleeve of the unidirectional compensator shall be installed at the inflow end of the medium.

  • Make sure the flow of the media is in the same direction as the arrows indicated on the product.

  • Inner sleeve direction

    • For compensators with an inner sleeve, care is taken to align the direction of the inner sleeve with the direction of the medium flow.

    Direct buried corrugated compensator

    1. Inner sleeve direction

    • Similarly, for a corrugated compensator with an inner sleeve, it is ensured that the direction of the inner sleeve coincides with the direction of the medium flow.

    • The hinge rotation plane of the hinge type corrugated compensator shall be consistent with the displacement rotation plane.

  • Cold tightening and pre-deformation

    • For compensators that need to be "cold tightened" (pre-deformed), the auxiliary components used for pre-deformation should be removed only after the pipeline is installed.

  • Fixed bracket

    • During installation, the outer sleeve shall be fixed near the fixed bracket, and the distance between the compensator and the fixed bracket shall not be greater than 4 times the diameter of the pipe.

  • Direction of media flow

    • When installing, pay attention to ensure that the direction of the guide sleeve is consistent with the flow direction.

  • Avoid adjustment excess tolerance

    • It is strictly forbidden to use the deformation method of directly buried corrugated compensator to adjust the installation excess tolerance of pipeline, so as to avoid affecting the normal function of compensator, reducing the service life and increasing the load of pipe system and equipment supporting members.

  • Axis alignment

    • The compensator should be installed along the center line of the pipeline, and the different axiality generally does not exceed 1%, so as to prevent excessive friction during operation and affect the sealing performance.

    General Precautions

    • Before installation, check the model, specification and pipe configuration of the compensator to ensure that it meets the design requirements.

    • Ensure that the surface of the product is free of bruises, crushing pits, serious rust and other defects that affect the quality of the product.

    • For the disposable compensator, if the total length of the finished product is consistent with the sample, it is not necessary to stretch or compress again. If there is any change, it should be adjusted before installation.

The above are basic installation directions and precautions, but in specific projects, the detailed installation manual and engineering design drawings provided by the manufacturer should also be followed to ensure proper installation and optimal performance.
