There are several types of pipe compensators

Pipe compensators can be divided into many types depending on their structure, materials, and application scenarios. Here are a few common types of pipe compensators, summarized in a clear format:

1. Metal corrugated compensator

  • Definition and Structure: The metal corrugated compensator is composed of a bellows (an elastic element) which constitutes its working body and accessories such as end tubes, brackets, flanges, conduits, etc.

  • Working Principle: The effective expansion and contraction deformation of the working body bellows is utilized to absorb the dimensional changes of pipelines, conduits, containers, etc. caused by thermal expansion and contraction, or to compensate the axial, transverse and angular displacements of pipelines, conduits, containers, etc.

  • Features and Applications: It is widely used in modern industry and has the characteristics of large compensation, convenient installation, corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance. It is especially suitable for high temperature and high pressure pipeline systems such as steam and hot water.

    2. Non-metallic compensator

  • Definition and Structure: Usually made of non-metallic materials (such as rubber, fiber, etc.), it has the characteristics of no thrust, simplified bearing design, corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, noise and vibration reduction, etc.

  • Working Principle: Absorbing the expansion and contraction deformation of the pipe by the elastic deformation of the non-metallic material.

  • Features and Applications: It is especially suitable for hot air ducts and smoke and dust ducts, which can effectively reduce the vibration and noise of duct system.

    3. Sleeve compensator

  • Definition and Structure: Sleeve compensators are made of cast iron or steel and usually consist of parts such as an outer sleeve, an inner sleeve, and a sealing packing.

  • Working PrincipleThrough the relative sliding between the inner and outer sleeves and the sealing action of the sealing packing, the expansion and contraction deformation of the pipe is absorbed.

  • Features and Applications: Small volume, large compensation capacity, suitable for pipelines that are not suitable for other types of compensators due to geographical restrictions.

    4. Square compensator

  • Definition and Structure: A square compensator is a natural compensator, usually made of a combination of seamless steel tube simmer bends or mechanical elbows, and is shaped in an "S" or "π" shape.

  • Working Principle: Compensation for thermal elongation of the pipe segment by deformation of the elbow.

  • Features and Applications: It is suitable for the pipeline system with the same diameter of the heating straight pipe, and has the advantages of simple structure and convenient manufacture.

5. Spherical compensator

  • Definition and Structure: The spherical compensator is composed of a sphere and a shell, and the sphere and the shell can be bent or rotated relative to a certain angle.

  • Working Principle: Absorb or compensate for lateral displacement in one or more directions of the pipe by angular displacement of the sphere.

  • Features and Applications: It has the advantages of large compensation amount, no blind plate force, small force on fixed pipe frame, etc., and is especially suitable for three-way displacement parts of steam and hot water pipes.

    6. Rotational compensator

  • Definition and Structure: The rotary compensator is composed of integral sealing seat, sealing gland, large and small heads, anti-friction centering bearing, sealing material, rotating cylinder and other components.

  • Working Principle: More than two groups are required to form a group when installed on a thermal pipeline to form a relative rotation to absorb the thermal displacement of the pipeline, thereby reducing the stress of the pipeline.

  • Features and Applications: It is suitable for long-distance thermal pipeline, and can effectively reduce the stress and deformation of pipeline system.

    OTHER TYPES

In addition to the above-mentioned common pipeline compensators, there are many types such as packing compensator, directly buried corrugated compensator, thrust-free sleeve compensator, etc. They have their own characteristics and scope of application, and can be selected according to specific engineering requirements and pipeline characteristics.

In summary, there are many types of pipeline compensators, and each type has its own unique structure and working principle, which is suitable for different pipeline systems and working conditions. When selecting pipeline compensator, it is necessary to make comprehensive consideration and reasonable selection according to specific engineering requirements and pipeline characteristics.
