FAQ

What are the commonly used compensators?

Commonly used compensators mainly include the following types, which are adapted to different application scenarios and working conditions:

  1. Bellows Compensator (Metal Expansion Joint): This is the most common type of compensator that utilizes the elastic deformation of the bellows to absorb the axial, lateral or angular displacement of the pipe. According to its working mode, it can be divided into axial type, transverse type, angular type and compound type.

  2. Fabric compensator(Non-Metallic Expansion Joint)Also known as a flexible connector or fabric compensator, it is a device used to absorb dimensional changes in ductwork, chimneys, ventilation systems, or other industrial equipment due to thermal expansion and contraction, vibration, displacement, etc. It is usually composed of multiple layers of different materials to suit specific application conditions and environments.

  3. sleeve compensator: The axial displacement of the pipe is absorbed by the sliding of the inner sleeve in the outer sleeve, which is suitable for high temperature and high pressure environment. It requires good sealing material to prevent media leakage.

  4. Rotary compensator: Allows the pipe to compensate for displacement by rotating, suitable for large displacement, but usually requires cooperation with guide brackets to ensure that the pipe rotates correctly without twisting.

  5. Square compensator (U-bend or L-bend): It is a more traditional compensation method to compensate for thermal expansion and contraction by bending the pipe itself. Because it takes up a large space, it is not as widely used as other types now.

  6. Spherical compensator: Allows the pipe to be displaced in three dimensions, achieved by the relative rotation between the sphere and the fixed seat, suitable for occasions where multi-directional displacement compensation is required.

  7. rubber compensator: Tubular rubber parts composed of inner and outer layers of rubber, plies and steel wire rings, with high elasticity and high air tightness, can reduce vibration and noise, and compensate for thermal expansion and contraction caused by temperature change, and are widely used in various pipeline systems.

Each kind of compensator has its own specific application scenarios and advantages and disadvantages. Selecting the appropriate type of compensator needs to consider the specific working conditions of the pipeline system, such as medium type, working temperature, working pressure, displacement amount and direction.
