The installation of a directly buried compensator is a professional process that needs to be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's guidance and engineering design requirements. PREPARATION STAGE

  1. Inspection and Acceptance

  • Before installation, check whether the model and specifications of the compensator match the design drawings.

  • Confirm that there is no obvious damage to the appearance of the compensator, such as pressure craters, rust and other defects.

  • Environmental preparation

    • Ensure that the installation site is clean and free of dust contamination.

    • Check that the trench meets the design depth and flatness requirements.

  • Materials & Tools

    • Prepare the necessary installation tools, such as lifting equipment, welding equipment, measuring tools, etc.

    Installation Steps

    1. Positioning and placement

    • Determine the position of the compensator according to the design drawings, ensuring that it is between two fixed points.

    • Gently place the compensator into the pipe trench to avoid collisions.

  • Connecting pipe

    • Align the compensator with the adjacent pipe, using welding or flanged connections.

    • Pay attention to the media flow direction and ensure that the arrow direction of the unidirectional compensator coincides with the media flow direction.

  • Pre-stretched or pre-compressed

    • Depending on the ambient and medium temperature, the compensator may need to be pre-stretched or pre-compressed to reserve sufficient compensation space.

    • This step should follow the manufacturer's instruction manual.

  • Fixing and adjusting

    • Fixed brackets are installed to ensure the stability of the compensator in the ductwork.

    • Adjust the position of the compensator to ensure it is coaxial with the pipe and avoid eccentricity.

  • Welding & Inspection

    • Weld the joints to ensure the quality of the weld.

    • Perform hydraulic tests as required to check for leaks.

  • Secondary fastening

    • After 24 hours of running, tighten the bolts at both ends of the packing chamber again to ensure a seal.

  • Insulation and backfill

    • Insulate the compensator and its surrounding pipelines to ensure that the insulation layer is continuous and free of damage.

    • Use sand to fill the surroundings of the pipe trench to avoid direct contact of hard objects with the compensator, and then cover the original soil.

    Considerations

    • Avoid improper handling: Never use a compensator to adjust the installation error of the pipeline to avoid damaging its performance.

    • Guidance and Fixation: Ensure that there are sufficient guide brackets and fixed brackets on both sides of the compensator to control the direction of movement of the pipe.

    • Avoid water standing: For directly buried corrugated compensator, make sure that water will not form around it to avoid corrosion.

    • Compliance with the Code: Comply with relevant safety codes and construction standards throughout the installation process.
