directly buried compensator

Directly buried compensator is a special compensator specially designed for directly buried pipeline system. It is mainly used to absorb axial displacement caused by temperature change of pipeline. This type of compensator is mainly used in heating, cooling and steam delivery systems, and is particularly very common in urban central heating networks. The design of direct burial compensator takes into account the influence of complex underground environment, such as soil pressure, groundwater corrosion, etc., to ensure the safety and reliability of pipeline system.

Features of directly buried compensator:

  1. bending resistance: The directly buried compensator has high bending resistance and can withstand the pressure of soil without affecting its compensation function.

  2. Direct burial installation: It can be buried directly underground without setting up inspection wells or additional protection measures, which reduces the footprint and construction cost of ground facilities.

  3. Large amount of compensation: The directly buried compensator usually has a large compensation amount, which can effectively absorb the thermal expansion and contraction of long-distance pipelines.

  4. Long life: The design and material selection make the directly buried compensator have a long service life and can adapt to harsh underground environment.

  5. Waterproof and corrosion resistant: The outer layer is usually waterproof and anti-corrosion coated or sleeved to protect the interior from groundwater and soil corrosion.

  6. Sealing performance: Good sealing performance, preventing groundwater from entering the pipeline system, while also avoiding the risk of pipeline leakage.

Type:

Directly buried compensators are mainly divided into disposable directly buried compensators and directly buried corrugated compensators.

  • Disposable direct burial compensator: This type of compensator completes preheating and displacement compensation during the initial installation of the pipeline, and then no longer expands or contracts. Its characteristics include convenient construction preheating, low price, consistent strength with pipeline after installation, good sealing performance of secondary welding joint, especially suitable for areas with strong groundwater corrosion.

  • Direct buried corrugated compensator: With a bellows structure, it can be expanded and contracted multiple times during pipeline operation to adapt to pipeline displacement caused by temperature changes.

Installation and maintenance:

The installation of directly buried compensators needs to follow strict technical specifications to ensure a strong and reliable connection between the compensator and the pipeline, while taking appropriate anti-corrosion and waterproofing measures into account the soil properties and groundwater conditions. In terms of maintenance, it is mainly to regularly check whether the external protective layer of the compensator is intact, and to check the internal condition of the compensator during pipeline overhaul.

Directly buried compensators are an indispensable part of modern urban infrastructure. They not only ensure the stable operation of underground pipeline system, but also greatly save the above-ground space and improve the flexibility of urban planning.
